During a 10-minute special called meeting Nov. 19, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court officially canvassed the Nov.

CISD TEACHERS RECEIVE GRANTS

In what was believed to be a record turnout, the annual Van Zandt County Veterans Memorial held its annual Veterans Day Ceremony Nov. 11 in Canton.

The Canton High School Student Leadership classes were thrilled to announce the resounding success of this year’s ‘Socktober’ service project. Aiming to collect 300 pairs of socks for those in need, the students and community members came together in an inspiring show of generosity, donating over 600 pairs! ‘Socktober,’ an initiative designed to provide socks to residents in Van Zandt County’s assisted living and nursing home facilities, saw an overwhelming response this year.

The Canton Lions Club District 2-X2 met Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Van Zandt Country Club.

STAFF REPORTS After recommending a 60-day burn ban which was approved by the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court Oct. 23, VZC Fire Marshal Sean Davis informed the commissioners’ court during its regular meeting Nov.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is planning to conduct the following construction and maintenance work in the district during the week of Nov. 11.
