Body Dealing out almost a year’s worth of frustrations on their opponent last Friday night, the undefeated Canton Eagles got their revenge in impressive style Oct. 17 as they blew past their Van Zandt County rival, the Wills Point Tigers, 63-7, at Ken Autry Davis Field.

Body Any thought of the undefeated Canton Eagles being distracted during Homecoming week in preparations for their Oct. 10 game against the Kemp Yellowjackets were quickly put away as the Eagles dominated Kemp, 63-0, in the District 6-4A, Division 2, opener at Norris Birdwell Stadium.

Body The Canton High School Running Eagles hosted the 15-4A District Cross Country Meet on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

Body After five non-district games and a bye week, Coach Heath Ragle’s Canton Eagles will begin the road to what they hope will be the District 6-4A, Division 2, championship when they host the Kemp Yellowjackets Friday, Oct. 10, in a 7 p.m.

Body The Canton Running Eagles ran at the Lindale Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 2. The varsity girls finished sixth overall out of 24 teams and were led by senior Kate Wallis with a time of 13:45 for 23rd place out of a field of 220 runners.

Body The Canton High School Running Eagles hosted their own invitational on Sept. 25 with over 25 schools in attendance. Peyton Chandler continued his impressive performances finishing sixth overall in a very competitive field with a time of 16:39.

Body davidb@vanzandtnews.com Building up their season record to 5-0, the Canton Eagles concluded their non-district record on another impressive note as they dominated the Rusk Eagles, 61-20, Sept. 26 in Rusk.

Body There were no signs of the unbeaten Canton Eagles slowing down Sept. 19 at Norris Birdwell Stadium against their rival, the Mabank Panthers, as Canton rolled to 47-0 victory to improve their overall record to 5-0.

Body The Canton High School Running Eagles ran at the Hallsville Invitational on Friday, September 19. The varsity girls team finished fourth overall out of 15 teams.
