The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Canton has announced plans to host free car seat and booster seat inspections from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, March 21 at the Van Zandt County/Sarah Norman Library, located at 317 First Monday Lane, in Canton.

The Texas Star Quilters Guild has begun a ‘Community Sit & Sew’ on the second Friday of every month at the Van Zandt County/Sarah Norman Library in Canton from noon to 4 p.m. “We welcome beginners to those experienced!” said an event spokesperson.

Early Voting will come to a close March 1 for the March 5 Primary Election. As of the end of the business day Feb. 26, a total of 2,301 votes had been cast during the first seven days of Early Voting for the March 5 Primary Election, according to the Van Zandt County Clerk’s office.

The Spirit and Squirt Horse Rescue Spring Concert is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 at the Van Zandt County Fairgrounds located at 24792 State Highway 64 in Canton. The concert will feature ‘Jimmy Lewis & 8 Second Ride Band.’ There will be free entry, but parking will be $20 per vehicle.
