Body An incredible 2024 season for the Canton Eagle varsity football team came to a disappointing conclusion Nov. 15 at the hands of the Farmersville Farmers in the Class 4A, Division 2 bi-district round of the state playoffs, 27-0, in Garland.

Body In a momentous ceremony held at Canton High School, Allison Rickman signed her national letter of intent to play basketball at the University of North Texas, marking a significant milestone in her athletic career.

Body After falling short to the Sunnyvale Raiders, 35-20, in their district championship game Nov. 8, the district runner- up Eagles now turn their attention to the Class 4A, Division 2, state playoffs.

Body One of the goals that Coach Heath Ragle’s Canton Eagles set at the beginning of the 2024 varsity football season was to put themselves in a position to play for a ‘Gold Ball,’ representing the District 6-4, Division 2 championship.

Body The Varsity Eaglettes took on stateranked Lindale Oct. 25 but fell in three sets.

Body For the first time this season, the Canton Eagles will find out how they will respond after a defeat as their undefeated record went down in stunning fashion Oct. 18 in a 21-17 overtime loss at home against their Van Zandt County rival, the Wills Point Tigers.

Body The Canton Running Eagles competed at the Class 4A Region 2 Cross Country Championships on Monday, Oct. 21 in Grand Prairie.
