The Canton Running Eagles cross-country teams ran at the Hawkins Invitational on Friday, Sept. 13 and all teams finished second overall among eight teams.

District play began in volleyball Sept. 13 as the Canton Eaglettes outlasted Brownsboro at home in three sets 25-210, 2515, 25-18.

As it turned out, the biggest obstacle that the Canton Eagles had to overcome Sept. 6 in Waxahachie was not their opponent, but the weather.

The Canton Eaglette varsity volleyball team lost two tough, fiveset matches, recently to Paris North Lamar and Kaufman. In the Whitehouse Tournament, the Eaglettes finished in second place in the Silver Bracket as they went 3-3 defeating Harmony, Marshall, and New Diana, and falling to Spring Hill, Texas High, and Harmmony.

The Canton Runnin’ Eagles hosted their invitational on Sept. 4, 5 at the Lewis Parking area.

After being tied 8-8 at the end of the third quarter, the Canton Eagles seized control of their 2024 regular season varsity football opener in the second half to register a 21-8 victory Aug. 30 at Norris Birdwell Stadium.

The Canton High School Running Eagles ran at the Mineola Invitational on Friday, August 30. In the Varsity Girls division, Mikela Smalling led the way finishing 15th out of 130 runners with a time of 13:03.

In preparing for the start of the 2024 campaign, Canton Eagle Head Coach Heath Ragle discussed the points of emphasis that his team has been working from the end of the 2023 football season until now.
