The Canton Eagles continued their early season run of dominance this past week, completing an unscathed slate with wins over Caddo Mills, Nevada Community, Tenaha, Henderson, North McKinney, and Kilgore to capture the Great East Texas Shootout Championship.

The Canton Eaglettes had a rather quiet slate compared to week’s past, hosting two home matchups on Tuesday, Dec. 6 and Friday, Dec. 9. Canton would go on to win both, improving their overall record to 14-2 on the season.

The Canton Eaglettes capped off another winning week with a second-place finish in the 18th annual Winnsboro Hoopfest Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 3. Overall, the Eaglettes went 5-1 on the week, with wins over Saltillo, Whitehouse, Malakoff, Mount Pleasant (Chapel Hill), and Edgewood, and their only loss coming in the championship game to the hosting Winnsboro Lady Raiders.

The Canton Eagles wrapped up this past week with a 4-1 mark, by handily taking down Nevada Community, La Porte, Fairfield, and Palestine before suffering the first regular season blunder to Bullard on Saturday night.
