Body After sweeping Van Alstyne in two straight games in the Class 4A Regional Softball Semifinals, the Canton Eaglettes are making their first-ever appearance in the Region 2 finals this week as they are taking on the Aubrey Lady Chapparals.

Body The Canton Eaglettes are now two series wins away from making their first trip ever to the Class 4A State Softball Tournament as they now move on to the regional semifinals. Canton was scheduled to take on Van Alstyne in a best two out of three series that began May 15 at 6:30 p.

Body The Canton Eaglettes girls’ golf team finished up another successful year at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 4A State Tournament at the Legends Course in Kingsland May 6, 7. Canton finished 10th in the two-day tournament.

Body This past week at Van Zandt Country Club, the Canton Eaglettes golf team finished second at the Region II-4A tournament. The Eaglettes will qualify for the Class 4A State Golf Tournament May 6-7 at the Legends Course in Kingsland.

Body The Canton Eaglette girls’golf team won the District 16-4A championship easily this past week, and is now looking towards the Region II tournament in two weeks at the Van Zandt Country Club in Canton. The team recorded a score of 346 in the cold, windy conditions.

Body Canton Eaglette junior Allison Rickman was recently named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State Girls Basketball Team for Class 4A. Rickman was also named to the Class 1A-4A Legacy All-Star Team.
