Body The Canton Eaglettes enjoyed a solid season on the court during the 2021 season, finishing third overall in a competitive district after a series of tiebreakers before getting edged out of the playoffs by the Caddo Mills Lady Foxes in a five-set heartbreaker.

Body Athletes participating in football, volleyball and cross country shook off the rust from a long summer this week, officially kickstarting their respective seasons with the start of two-a-day workouts Aug. 1.

Body The Canton Eaglette volleyball program will get its first taste of competitive action this week, traveling to Emory Rains High School Aug. 5 and Kaufman High School Aug. 6 for a series of preseason playdays.

Body The Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association named Canton standout Ace Reese First Team All-State for his performance during the 2022 season at the shortstop position. Reese proved to be a tough out for opposing pitchers, posting a .524 average in 120 plate appearance.

Body Only mid-way through June and Texas has already seen extreme heat and very little rain this summer, with the trend predicted to continue.
