Edgewood plane crash kills pilot

Body According to Texas Department of Public Safety Media & Communications/ Safety Education Sgt. Adam Albritton, a preliminary investigation indicated that on Dec. 26, 2003, at around 6 p.m., a civilian aircraft crashed in the area of Private Road 7005 in Edgewood.

Man dies in traffic accident

Body A one-vehicle accident Dec. 27 on State Highway 64, five miles east of Canton, took the life of a Canton resident, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Education/Media & Communications Sgt. Chris Williamson. The accident occurred at 3:59 p.m. Dec. 27.

Early Voting schedule released for special election

Body A Notice of Order of Election for the January 30, 2024, special runoff election for the Texas House District 2 state representative seat was approved by the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court during its regular meeting Dec. 20, their final regular meeting scheduled for 2023.
