Van Zandt County Sheriff Joe Carter and VZC Jail Administrator Matt Stucker presented an update on VZC Jail standards and personnel during the regular meeting of the VZC Commissioners Court April 12. “I took over as VZC sheriff on May 15, 2022,” recalled Carter to the commissioners’court.

Why do you feel that you are the best candidate for this position? Josh Wilkerson and his wife, Casey, are lifelong Canton residents and attended Canton Schools kindergarten-12th. Josh graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2000, moved back to Canton, and pursued a career in Engineering, Design, Procurement, and Construction of Petrochemical facilities.
