The Van Zandt County Genealogical Society met on Saturday, November 26, at the Van Zandt County Library. The program was Show and Tell, which included attendees sharing stories of history, genealogy and family.

Canton Duplicate Bridge results for Nov. 4 and Nov. 8 were recently release and the results were as follows: Nov. 4: First place, Susan and Charles Ford; Second place, Rosemary Mize and Barbara Austin; Third place, Judy Adams and Gloria Rowland; and Fourth place, JoEllen Wade and Jean Roach.

The members of the Martin’s Hundred Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century met in Mabank at the Tri-County Library in the Community Room. The members enjoyed a presentation on Native Americans during the Colonial Times by Pat Thibodeau.

The Canton Main Street Program hosted the annual Autumn Festival on Saturday, Oct. 8. Attendees took in live music, food vendors, business booths, and more. The Main Street Program reported that it was their most successful festival held to date.

The Van Zandt County Genealogical Society assisted local lineage societies in honoring two old Van Zandt County settlers and patriots Oct. 8 at Elm Grove Cemetery in the southwestern part of the county.
