Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar recently said that state sales tax revenue totaled $3.69 billion in February, .05 percent more than in February 2023. The majority of February sales tax revenue is based on sales made in January and remitted to the agency in February.

TxDOT project updates for the week of March 4

Canton Maintenance will have one crew repairing base and performing overlay on FM 3227. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. Also, crews will be performing bridge maintenance on FM 16, I-20, and other locations throughout the county. Another crew will be sweeping curb and gutter and bridges throughout the county. State Park Day Pass reservations for the Solar Eclipse event Monday, April 8 will open at 8 a.m. March 8, Those hoping to view the total eclipse from a state park location can call the Texas State Parks Reservations Center at 512-389-8900 or go online for all parks except the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. Reservations for Enchanted Rock will need to be made March 11 by phone only.
