Commissioners officially canvasses Nov. 7 election results

During a 10-minute special session Nov. 17, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court officially canvassed the results from the Nov. 7 General Election involving 14 proposed Constitutional Amendments as well as the special election for Texas House District 2 representative. VZC Clerk’s Office Elections Administrator Shannon Maddox presented the final election results to the commissioners’ court.

TxDOT representatives speak at Canton Lions Club Luncheon

TERRIE HARRISON Canton Lions Club Secretary Representatives from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) were the guest speakers Nov. 15 during the regular weekly luncheon of the Canton Lions Club District 2-X2 met at the Van Zandt Country Club with Canton Lions Club President Jesse Carranza presiding.
