Lions Club was excited to hear from Dr. Kaitie Franklin, chiropractor and owner of the Euphoria Pediatric & Family Wellness center in Canton Texas. The philosophy of Euphoria’s chiropractors and massage therapists is “Healing is an inside job”.

The Canton city council held its regular meeting on Tuesday night to discuss current and upcoming city business. New City employees- PD officer Dennis Thompson, PD dispatcher Emma Sikes and Streets/Utilities Laborer Joshua Rosemond were introduced to the mayor and council.

The Canton school board met on Monday night for the first meeting since the start of a new school year. The students have only been back on campus for a short time but are already busy at work. The meeting opened with a public hearing on the proposed tax rate of $1.0637.

A retired former Kaufman County Judge was chosen to oversee the appeal of Karmelo Anthony for his recent murder conviction. Visiting Judge Sid Harle recused Collin County District Judge John Roach, who oversaw Anthony’s murder trial in June 2026.

For much of my adult life, I have enjoyed learning about shooting and hunting with different sporting arms. Back when I was a young man just starting a family, money was tight and I continued hunting deer and wild hogs with my trusty lever action 30-30.
