Denali Water Solutions withdraws application

In a letter dated Aug. 19 from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) sent to Van Zandt Newspapers L.L.C., Denali Water Solutions L.L.C. has requested that their permit application be withdrawn. The letter was sent to Denali Water Solutions L.L.C. Director of Environmental-Central Region Gabe Timby from TCEQ Biosolids Coordinator, Water Quality Assessment Section, Water Quality Division Kellie Crouch.

Summer Street Dance set for Saturday

Canton Main Street and the Canton Visitor’s Bureau will be hosting a Summer Street Dance that will include two band performances Saturday, Aug. 31 during First Monday Weekend on the street in front of Canton City Hall located at 201 North Buffalo Street.

‘Green Restroom’ building at First Monday to be torn down

Following storm damage suffered May 28, the old ‘Green Restroom’ building located in close proximity to the Historic Main Gate on the First Monday grounds will be demolished. The decision to tear down the building was made unanimously by the Canton City Council during its regular monthly meeting Aug.
