The Canton Lions Club held its latest meeting on Oct. 22, bringing together members and guests for a spirited gathering filled with community updates, heartfelt prayers, and a special guest speaker.

Canton High School Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Heath Ragle was the guest speaker Oct. 15 during the weekly Canton Lions Club Luncheon as he highlighted athletic accomplishments that have taken place during the 2025-26 school year.

On Sept. 17, the Canton Lions Club held its regular meeting, gathering members and guests for an engaging evening of fellowship, service, and community updates.

A good crowd was on hand on a warm day for the annual Constitution Day observance on the northside steps of the Van Zandt County Courthouse in Canton held at noon Sept. 17. The event was sponsored by the Republican Club of VZC.

‘Aviation Allies: The Royal Air Force in Terrell’ is the title of a traveling exhibit now on view at the Van Zandt County/Sarah Norman Library in Canton through the month of August. The exhibit tells the story of the partnership between the United Kingdom and the United States to train hundreds of British pilots in North Texas before and during World War II.

Do you need a genealogy do over? The Van Zandt County Genealogy Society will do a live virtual presentation from genealogist Thomas MacEntee. The presentation will be held at the VZC/ Sarah Norman Library, located at 317 First Monday Lane in Canton on Saturday, Aug.
