With the aid of his ‘therapy duck,’ Van Zandt County Northeast Texas Game Warden Captain Steve Stapleton shared some memorable stories about his involvement in previous investigations as he was the guest speaker April 30 during the Canton Lions Club Weekly Luncheon. The club’s weekly luncheon was held for the first time at Native Son located on the downtown square.

Speaking on the topic of ‘Crime and Punishment in Van Zandt County,’ Canton Attorney Richard Schmidt was the guest speaker April 16 during the regular weekly Canton Lions Club Luncheon held at Ole West Bean and Burger.

The Canton Independent School District (CISD) held its monthly school board meeting on March 17, 2025, featuring inspiring presentations from students and recognizing outstanding staff contributions.
