Eagles surge through tournament play

The Canton Eagles continued their strong kickstart to the 2023 season this past weekend, finishing 3-1 in the annual Canton Tournament to improve their overall record to 11-1. Coach Brandon Luce’s squad entered the weekend unscathed after competing in two tournaments over the span of two weekends.

Eaglette= softball moves to 15-4

The Canton Eaglettes got back in action this past week with matchups against Prairiland, Athens, and Bullard over a six-day span. Canton would down Prariland on Saturday, March 4 behind the arm of Jaycee Bullard.

Eaglettes move to 14-3 on season

Body
After opening their season on a seven-game winning streak, the Canton Eaglettes went 7-3 over the past week to move their overall record to 10-3 in the young 2023 campaign. The Eaglettes would return home following the Wimberly Tournament, falling to White Oak on Feb.

Eaglette lifters compete at Regionals

Body
Lifters representing Van Zandt County’s three largest school districts, Canton, Van and Wills Point, made their way to Eustace High School March 4 to compete for a chance to advance to the Class 4A State Powerlifting Meet.

The Canton Eagles baseball program, which has seen its fair share of success in recent years, tore out of the gates in dominant fashion to open their 2023 campaign, to the tune of a blemish- free 8-0 record.

While the Canton Eagles saw a disappointing finish to their season on Friday night, they had a lot to boast about following the release of the District 164A superlatives this week, which were dominated by the Eagles.

Eagles fall to Pinkston in Area round

The Canton Eagles hopes for an extended postseason run would come to an end last Friday, as they dropped their second-round matchup to Dallas Pinkston, 59-38. Canton would earn a trouncing victory over Texarkana Pleasant Grove, 58-41, on Tuesday, Feb.

Canton captures fourth-straight district title

The Canton Eagles season- long chase for a fourthstraight district championship came to fruition last week, as wins over Mabank and Athens granted the Eagles their fourth ‘golden ball’ trophy in as many years.

Softball program races to 7-0 start

The Canton Eaglette softball program wasted little time in finding their midseason form to being their 2023 campaign, winning all seven games played over a five-day stretch last week. The Eaglettes officially began their new season Feb.
