Eagles stumble into district slate

The Canton Eagles suffered a rather tumultuous stretch for their standards in the past two weeks, after a district loss to Athens and a disappointing tournament run left them at 3-4 over that span, and 20-5 on the season.

Eagles roll into holidays with 17-1 mark

The Canton Eagles took a much-needed break from tournament play this past week, staying on their home floor in matchups against Sunnyvale and Quitman. While very different games, the result remained consistent as Canton knocked off both squads to improve their record to 17-1 on the season.

Eaglettes pick up two district wins

Eagles cap off undefeated week with 1st place finish

The Canton Eagles continued their early season run of dominance this past week, completing an unscathed slate with wins over Caddo Mills, Nevada Community, Tenaha, Henderson, North McKinney, and Kilgore to capture the Great East Texas Shootout Championship.

Eaglettes improve to 12-2, finish second in Winnsboro Hoopfest

The Canton Eaglettes capped off another winning week with a second-place finish in the 18th annual Winnsboro Hoopfest Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 3. Overall, the Eaglettes went 5-1 on the week, with wins over Saltillo, Whitehouse, Malakoff, Mount Pleasant (Chapel Hill), and Edgewood, and their only loss coming in the championship game to the hosting Winnsboro Lady Raiders.

Canton finishes second in Athens Tournament

The Canton Eagles wrapped up this past week with a 4-1 mark, by handily taking down Nevada Community, La Porte, Fairfield, and Palestine before suffering the first regular season blunder to Bullard on Saturday night.

Eagles improve to 5-0 on young season

The Canton Eagles hot start to the 2022-23 season carried over this past week, as they handed defeats to Kaufman and Farmersville before heading into their annual Thanksgiving break. Entering the week at 3-0 after the first week of regular season action, the Eagles returned to Canton to host their first home matchup of the year against the Kaufman Lions on Nov.

Eaglettes race to 7-1 start

The Canton Eaglettes basketball team entered the 202223 season under new reign, as Troy Carrell takes over the head coach position after spending the past 12 seasons at Woodville High School. At the time of being hired by Canton, Carrell boasted a 369-122 overall record, featuring trips to the State Tournament in 2019 and 2020.
