Body The Canton High school varsity girls’ golf team won the Canton Invitational easily this past week with a team score of 334, setting a team record for a one day total. The Eaglettes will next compete at the district tournament on March 25 and 26 at the Van Zandt Country Club.

Body In a battle of Van Zandt County rivals March 15, the Canton Eaglettes outlasted the visiting Wills Point Lady Tigers, 8-0, in Canton.

Body Two members of the Class 4A Regional Finalist Canton Eaglettes basketball team were recently named to the Class 4A All-Region Team by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. Chloe Howe and Allison Rickman of the Eaglettes were named to the squad.

Body The road to the state tournament in San Antonio came to an end for the Canton Eagles Feb. 22 as they ended their season with a 66-41 loss to Dallas Carter in Kaufman.

Body The Canton Eaglettes won two more playoff games last week before falling to Dallas Lincoln,56-43, in the Class 4A girls’ basketball regional finals Feb. 24.

Body The Canton Eagles’ hopes to win their fifth consecutive district championship in boys’ basketball were dashed at the hands of the Mabank Panthers Feb. 13 in Mabank, 54-42.
