The Canton Eagles were well represented on the District 8-4A, Division 2, All-District Football Team recently announced. Senior Logan Faglie was named as a ‘First Team Specialist’ and senior Justus Petree was selected as a ‘First Team Utility’ player.

The Canton Eagles led early and held off a Mabank rally to capture an important 40-30 district win over Mabank at home Jan. 19.

The Canton Eaglettes had a sweep last week, taking district wins over Lindale and Mabank. Canton moves to 24-5 overall, 7-1 in district and are now ranked #13 in the Class 4A state Maxpreps poll.

The Canton Eagles continued their impressive run in district play with victories at home over Brownsboro Jan. 9 and a road win at Cumberland Academy Jan.

The 15th state-ranked Canton Eaglettes took on their two toughest opponents in District 16-4A last week and walked away with a split that left them in second place after the first round of district play.

The Canton Eagles returned to district play on a successful note as they blew past Cumberland Academy on the road, 5840, Jan. 5.

The Canton Eaglettes dominated the Cumberland Academy Lady Knights in Tyler, 56-10, Jan. 5 behind Allison Rickman’s 18 points.

On Dec. 27-29, the Canton Eaglette basketball team competed in the Aggieland Invitational in College Station, one of the top holiday girls’ tournaments in the state.

The Canton Eagles lost three out of five games during the Paris Tournament played Dec. 28-30.

On Dec. 19, the Canton Eaglettes came out fast against the Athens Lady Hornets and never looked back, on their way to an 80-28 win.
